JUST TAKE SOME TIME TO ASK AROUND
Brooklyn-based Xenia Rubinos has a rich, acrobatic voice that she loops and layers in really intriguing ways. Because you can hear such a wide range of stylistic influences in her music, it’s difficult to associate her with any particular genre, which is perhaps why she’s being grouped with the avant-pop artists at SXSW. I had the chance to see her perform tonight, and she was fantastic. Definitely go see her while you’re in Austin.
